Types of workers' compensationIf you are injured at work you can be eligible for the following types of compensation. Medical TreatmentYou have a right to any necessary treatment. You also have the right to use the doctor of your choice. You do not need to use the company doctor. If you wish we will refer you to a specialist for qualified medical attention. Temporary Disability BenefitsIf you are unable to return to work while you are being treated you can qualify for temporary disability benefits. The employer's workers' compensation insurance may be required to pay up to two-thirds of you regular salary. Permanent Disability BenefitsIf your injury results in long term damage you can be eligible for permanent disability benefits. These depend on the extent of the disability. In some situations you may be entitled to weekly benefits for life. Vocational RehabilitationIf you can not return to your prior occupation you may be entitled to vocation rehabilitation. This will provide you with the education and retraining to return to work in a different occupation. Death BenefitsWhen a work place injury results in death the dependent of the deceased can have rights of compensation, including burial expenses and weekly benefits. |
